Introduction

Marie-Jean Thoraval received his Diplôme d'Ingénieur (Master Level) from Ecole Polytechnique (Palaiseau, France), and Supaéro (Toulouse, France). He also completed a Research Master degree in Fluid Dynamics at ISAE.

He joined KAUST in August 2009 as a founding class student. He graduated in March 2013 (Thesis: Drop impact splashing and air entrapment).

He is now postdoc at the Physics of Fluids group at the University of Twente, working with Profs. Frits Dijksman, Jacco Snoeijer and Detlef Lohse.

Research Interests

During his Ph.D., he studied different aspects of drop impacts, captured at very high frame rates.
