Overview

We focus on experiments in fluid mechanics using high-speed imaging. The dynamics of drops and bubbles and multiphase flows are of particular interest. This includes splashing, coalescence, wetting, breakup of vapor layers and formation of jets and sprays. We have numerous state-of-the-art high-speed cameras and lasers for illumination, allowing us to study a variety of new flow phenomena at extreme time-resolution. We are also studying rapid granular flows, flows in micro-channels as well as volume velocity measurements in high-Reynolds number turbulence.
